STILLSCAPE - room of silence

STILLSCAPE is composed of the words «stillness» and «creation of landscape» .

Our events and activities are an invitation to get in touch with your own creative self; and an invitation to participate in a collective creation process.

STILLSCAPE is a Norwegian organization that creates and displays art experiences and other activities that can provide artists and audience a meeting with silence. Silence is not about absence of noise. Silence is a source that can give us better contact with our inner and with our surroundings.

I used to think the top environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and climate change. I thought that with 30 years of good science we could address those problems. But I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy ... and to deal with those problems we need a spiritual and cultural transformation - and we scientists don’t know how to do that.

We are happy to announce our fourth Festival of Silence August 29. - 30. 2020, at the lovely farm Torstad gård in Asker, Norway. The theme for the festival is inspired by the Earth Element and is called Listen to the pulse of Mother Earth. The festival is organized in collaboration with the Asker municipality.

STILLSCAPE hired Esviken in Asker as the arena for its activities 2008 - 2011. Esviken was then closed for two years do to renovation. And STILLSCAPE has been like a Sleeping Beauty until 2019. Who kissed her? Maybe you’ll have a glimse during the festival.

Below - you are welcome to have a look at what took place in those years in Esviken. And also where we are heading now!
